1971 July A group of nurses started meeting at retired OMF missionaries, Mr and Mrs Wallace Hockey’s home 1972 Sept 9 Regular meetings organized at Jeune Street Methodist Church Hall for students and nurses 1978 Nov 12 A group of committed brothers and sisters, studying in Oxford at that time, started Chinese class and Sunday School for local Chinese children at James Street Church 1981-1990 Miss Estella Ip served as Church worker, supported by her home church – the Chinese Rhenish Church, Kowloon in Hong Kong 1982 Feb 28 First Cantonese Worship held at James Street Church 1982 Oct 2 Cantonese Worship and Chinese class moved to Headington Baptist Church 1983 July-Aug First Summer Mission to local Chinese organised and first Children’s Summer Camp held at Josca’s School - assisted by the Students Fellowship and some brothers and sisters from Hong Kong 1985 Apr 5 Registered as a charity with the Charity Commission 1986 Nov 23 ‘Oxford Chinese Christian Fellowship’ officially changed to ‘Oxford Chinese Christian Church’ 1987 Oct 30 First Church owned property - a 3 bed-room, semi-detached house at 15 Gorse Leas, Northway Headington for staff accommodation and administrative centre 1990-1993 Mr Kai-Man Kwan served as part-time voluntary Church worker 1991-1992 Miss Helen Yeung appointed as lay worker 1992-1993 Mr Charles Li served as Church pastor 1997-2000 Mr Kim-Kee Lee served as Church pastor 2001-2007 OMF Missionary Mr Paul Pruitt assisted in starting the Mandarin ministry 2003 July Sunday worship relocated to Lime Walk Methodist Church with Cantonese and Mandarin services as well as Sunday School and Teens' Fellowship held at the same time 2003-2007 Dr Damon So appointed as voluntary Church pastor 2005 May Miss Lily Wang appointed as intern Church worker 2007 July Miss Sicilia Law, student of China Graduate School of Theology in Hong Kong , assisted in running the Summer Mission to local Chinese 2007 Aug 27 Rev Garry Pang started working in the Church 2007 Sept 16 Teens’ Fellowship started meeting at All Saint’s Church House, New High Street 2008 Mar 9 Launch of morning worship at Oxford Deaf & Hard of Hearing Centre Last Update: 2 March 2008
